Viticulturists Can Now Receive 4-Day Predictions, Issue Work Orders, and Take Action Using Their Mobile Devices

A new addition of Agrology into the Process2Wine software platform delivers a one-of-a-kind integrated solution for grapegrowers

Alexandria, VA, and Santa Barbara, CA, August 29, 2023 — Agrology and Process2Wine today unveiled an integrated solution for grape growers and viticulturists. Process2Wine now offers an Agrology integration that delivers predictions up to 4-days out, enabling growers to respond to threats and take immediate action through Process2Wine work orders. In addition, for customers who add on the Agrology platform, real-time ground-truth data will appear in the Process2Wine app, making it easy to manage issues like irrigation optimization, pest and disease pressure, microclimate threats from heat or frost, as well as wildfire threats and smoke taint. Yount Mill Vineyards is the first grower to implement this powerful new solution across their growing operations.

“As a Process2Wine customer we find Agrology’s 4-day predictions incredibly useful,” said Alec Klobuchar, viticulturist at Yount Mill Vineyards. “The integration within Process2Wine streamlines my workflow and enables me to see all of my data in one place. My goal is to utilize this information to assist with increasing operational efficiency, preserve fruit quality, along with enhancing our mission towards sustainable use of our resources.”

“Process2Wine has always been focused on empowering wineries to be operationally organized and efficient, and the integration of Agrology takes our capabilities to the next level,” said Clement Chivite, North American manager at Process2Wine. “Managers can now turn ground-truth Agrology data into real-time action. No more spreadsheets, phone calls, just quick decisive action delivered from the dirt to their desktop and mobile devices.”

As part of the integration, Process2Wine works with customers to install the Agrology Sentinel Climate Monitoring System or Arbiter Carbon Monitoring System in their vineyards. Agrology handles all installation and offers a subscription service with no expensive hardware to purchase. Once Agrology is installed in the vineyard, growers receive Agrology predictions and data directly through the Process2Wine interface.

“Our continuous ground-truth data and 4-day predictions make managing a vineyard much, much easier,” said Adam Koeppel, co-founder and CEO of Agrology. “The Agrology and Process2Wine engineering teams have worked really hard to make this integrated, easy-to-use solution and we are proud of the work we’ve done to offer this solution to growers.”

The Agrology Platform includes several pieces of hardware: multi parameter ground-truth soil probes; canopy sensors that measure atmospheric conditions, changes and gases; and irrigation sensors. Back-end machine learning models track and interpret data to monitor complex challenges and deliver real-time data and predictions in an easy-to-read format.

The Process2Wine vineyard management software displays the exact data growers need, including instant geolocated pins for notes taken as teams are working in the vineyard, tracking the cost of all vineyard supplies, labor, overhead, and operating expenses per vintage and per block. Growers can generate reports and protocols for all vineyard activities by block and row using intuitive software that will save the exact data needed.

The integration of these two platforms was something that started when the two companies announced their partnership in January 2023. More information can be found at https://www.agrology.ag/agrology-process2wine.
