SVG Ventures | THRIVE is proud to announce the selection of its tenth cohort, THRIVE Global X. This milestone year of programming marks the continuation of THRIVE’s mission to support scale-up companies in their journey towards growth within the global AgriFood tech sector.

The selected companies, chosen through a rigorous process that included the evaluation of over 1000 applications will embark on a six-month Global scale-up program starting in June 2024. This comprehensive program aims to facilitate investment, mentorship, curated resources, and corporate engagement for the participating companies. The culmination of the program will be marked by a demo day in September, followed by THRIVE’s Global Impact Summit & Startup Bootcamp in November.

Agrology and Braga Fresh are joint recipients of the annual Science & Technology Circle of Excellence Award at the IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show in Anaheim. The award was presented by IFPA’s Chief Science Office, Max Teplitski, to Eric Morgan of Braga Fresh and Charlie Dubbe of Agrology.

With this award, each year IFPA recognizes changemakers for their contributions and accomplishments in the produce and floral industries that advance the industry through innovation, collaboration and superior leadership. Braga Fresh and Agrology were honored as a result of the work they did to monitor, measure and quantify soil carbon flux and soil respiration, key indicators of soil microbiome health and activity.

Agrology today announced that the company received $500,000 in Phase IIB Funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to further develop Agrology’s real-time soil carbon and nitrous oxide emission monitoring technology. America’s Seed Fund is powered by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and awards $200 million annually to startups and small businesses, transforming scientific discovery into products and services with commercial and societal impact. “NSF grants require an incredibly rigorous process and we are thrilled to pass this difficult milestone for a third time,” said Adam Koeppel, Co-Founder and CEO of Agrology.

Agrology today unveiled a new Grower Portal that puts the power of self service and customized data into the hands of growers. The Grower Portal provides Agrology customers with a web-based version of the Agrology platform that includes new features like easy-to-create polished reports, in-depth data overlays, and the ability to easily export data. The Grower Portal complements the real-time data growers receive in the Agrology iOS app, enabling them to dig deep into ground-truth data on irrigation, smoke risk and smoke taint, moisture levels, weather and microclimates, pest and disease pressure, soil carbon and nitrous flux.

Agrology and Process2Wine today unveiled an integrated solution for grape growers and viticulturists. Process2Wine now offers an Agrology integration that delivers predictions up to 4-days out, enabling growers to respond to threats and take immediate action through Process2Wine work orders. In addition, for customers who add on the Agrology platform, real-time ground-truth data will appear in the Process2Wine app, making it easy to manage issues like irrigation optimization, pest and disease pressure, microclimate threats from heat or frost, as well as wildfire threats and smoke taint.

Agrology and UC Davis today announced an extended partnership that includes a new research project that aims to understand smoke risk thresholds in vineyards.
