Agrology adds soil health experts to the team to help growers understand the impact of regenerative farming practices and advance Agrology’s science-based ecological and agronomic data capabilities
Salinas, CA, August 27, 2024– Agrology, a Public Benefit Corporation, is thrilled to announce that two esteemed soil health experts, Dr. Jessica Chiartas and Chuck Schembre, have joined the company as scientific advisors. Their deep soil health knowledge and experience will be instrumental in guiding Agrology customers to interpret and utilize soil data and more intimately understand the impacts of regenerative agriculture practices. In addition, the advisors will help Agrology advance their Arbiter product, develop new soil health metrics to help inform grower decision-making, and ensure that Agrology data meets the highest scientific standards.

Dr. Jessica Chiartas, a distinguished soil scientist with a PhD in Soils and Biogeochemistry from U.C. Davis, brings extensive experience in researching the long-term impacts of agricultural management on soil carbon, soil health, and ecosystem services. As the President and Lead Scientist at RegenScore, she has collaborated with organizations such as Ben & Jerry’s and Simple Mills to develop monitoring programs that track the environmental, agronomic, and economic impacts of regenerative practices. Dr. Chiartas will play a pivotal role in helping Agrology transform complex data into actionable insights.

Chuck Schembre, a regenerative specialty crop consultant with Understanding Ag and a Certified Professional Soil Scientist, specializes in orchards, vineyards, and diversified vegetable cropping systems, with a focus on California and the Western regions. With 20 years of experience in agriculture and natural resource management, Chuck has managed diversified farms, orchards, and vineyards, and served as a soil health educator and consultant to hundreds of farmers. His expertise in soil health analysis, regenerative crop fertility, and ecosystem restoration will be crucial as Agrology enhances its product offerings to include comprehensive soil health metrics derived from its Arbiter platform.
