SWEEP Funding for Growers
About The State Water Efficiency and Enhancement Program (SWEEP)
The State Water Efficiency and Enhancement Program (SWEEP) provides financial assistance in the form of grants to enable growers to implement irrigation systems, reduce greenhouse gasses, and save water. Eligible system components include (among others) soil moisture monitoring, drip systems, switching to low pressure irrigation systems, pump retrofits, variable frequency drives, and installation of renewable energy to reduce on-farm water use and energy.
Under the program, CDFA has selected 1,130 projects to be awarded covering over 168,000 acres. To date, $123 million has been awarded, with more than $70 million in matching funds contributed by awardees.
Eligible system components include soil moisture monitoring, drip systems, switching to low pressure irrigation systems, pump retrofits, variable frequency drives and installation of renewable energy to reduce on-farm water use and energy. More information can be found at www.cdfa.ca.gov/oefi/sweep.
Good news! SWEEP Funding Covers Systems Like Agrology
This includes predictions of water stress and frost or heat waves, and real-time alerts when your vineyard crosses critical temperature or soil moisture thresholds. Also included in the system: soil, water, air and smoke risk data–all covered by SWEEP!
How It Works
CDFA SWEEP awards up to $200,000 per tax ID. 2023 applications are due soon. We can help!
SWEEP funding is first-come, first-served so it’s important to get applications in first. Applications submitted within the first six weeks are approved and once funding is secured it runs for five years.
Contact Gino Camozzi at Agrology for more information or schedule a time with Gino here.
The Process
Agrology supports you in completing the application. Using an easy template, we help you gather information and handle all the paperwork to submit your SWEEP proposal. It takes about three weeks to gather and organize the data, then you submit and viola, you receive funding! Agrology installs your new system once funding is complete.
The Benefits
SWEEP focuses on deploying soil monitoring systems, including soil moisture sensors, to improve irrigation efficiency and drive water savings. In addition to the core soil moisture sensors, this project includes:
Irrigation runtime monitoring at the block level
Vapor Pressure Deficit tracking
Predictive insights and forecasts that helps growers anticipate irrigation needs for efficient scheduling.
And since Agrology is a fully-integrated, holistic system when you install our system under SWEEP funding, you receive all Agrology features including:
Smoke Detection & Monitoring
Scheduling Verification (Spray & Irrigation)
Nano-Climate Temperature Prediction
Water Availability by Nano-Climate
Smoke danger zones Days in risk zones
Confirmation that a scheduled event has occurred
Highest risk for frost and heat damage zones

Subscription Based. Nothing to Buy.
Agrology offers a simple subscription model. Instead of buying hardware that breaks or becomes obsolete, Agrology offers a monthly subscription service. For the per-acre cost of Netflix, we install and supply the Agrology system. Then we deliver data via easy-to-read dashboards. No more expensive data crunching, maintenance, or outdated technology in your fields.
Once you subscribe, we update our technology on a regular basis, introduce new features, and more. We also replace any broken devices for free and we offer extensive customer support to answer questions and maintain systems.
All of this funded by SWEEP.
